STUDIO B.B.P.R. (Luigi BANFI, 1910–1945; Lodovico BARBIANO DI BELGIOJOSO, 1909–2004; Enrico PERESSUTI (1908–1976) and Ernesto Nathan ROGERS (1901–1969) for OLIVETTI Bookcase from the “Spazio” series, model created circa 1962, made of yellow-lacquered metal with a hollowed-out quadrangular body that opens in the center via a drop-down panel forming a writing desk, surmounting three height-adjustable shelves and flanked on either side by a cabinet that opens via a solid door to reveal an interior with adjustable shelves. Base with eight tubular legs ending in small black glides (chipping, stains, scratches). H 200 cm – W 200 cm – D 35 cm History: For the New York store of the Olivetti company, the B.B.P.R. studio designed the “Spazio” furniture series, which won the prestigious Compasso d’Oro award in 1962.
