Dedicated, signed and dated lower right: all amico Casella l'autore V.Gemito 191[0/8] Small tear at the dedication Enrico Frascione (M.) This charming drawing is dedicated by the artist to Casella. It probably refers to Lina Casella, to whom Gemito dedicated a photograph of his self-portrait (Bolaffi sale, Autografi e documenti storici, 2008, Turin, no. 226). Lina Casella was a journalist and editor of the Roman edition of the Neapolitan newspaper Il Matino.
