Trigram bronze perfume burner Large bronze perfume burner China Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), late 19th century H. 33.5 cm diam: 28 cm Globular in shape, standing on three feet, the body is flanked by lions' heads holding movable rings. The openwork wooden lid, adorned with stylized scrolls, is topped by a carved hardstone socket representing a bouquet of lingzhi (ruyi), a symbol of longevity. The surface is finely incised with clouds and auspicious Buddhist motifs. Side openings feature trigrams from the Yijing (Classic of Mutations). On the reverse, the Buddhist mantra "Om Mani Padme Hum", engraved in siddham. 400/600 euros
