Pair of silver vegetable dishes, the body plain, the celery leaf handles joined. The plain, staved lid is embellished with a cabbage-shaped socket and chased leaves. The lid and body are engraved with DT within a shield. Master goldsmith: Pierre-François Goglys or Goguelye, received in 1768. Paris, 1772-1773. Heights: 16.5 cm. Lengths: 26 cm. Weight : 2792 g. Goguelye or Gogly, Pierre-François (active 1768-after 1793) Goldsmith in Paris. On December 19, 1765, he obtained a letter from the Marquis de Marigny attesting that he had worked as an apprentice for six years at Les Gobelins, then for four years as a journeyman with Antoine Lambert, goldsmith to the king (himself married to Marie-Françoise Goguelye). On August 17, 1768, he was awarded the title of Master Goldsmith and had his hallmark (the letters PFG and a fly) inscribed, guaranteed by Jean-François Goglis (probably his brother). Established on rue Saint-Landry, he is number 351 on the tax roll for the 20th district in 1774. His workshop remained at the same address until 1793.
