Étrennes poster 1889. J. Hetzel & Cie. Publishers, Paris (1888). Interior poster. 43 x 59.5 cm. Color illustration by D. Semeghini on front: on an apple-green background, numerous children from different countries and races (Asians, Africans, Europeans), talking to each other, carrying books, reading... cartouches of different sizes and shapes, scattered all over the surface, featuring titles from the various Hetzel collections. Printed in black on the reverse: presentation of the sixteen new titles published for the 1889 New Year's gifts. Poster for the Hetzel bookshop, published at the end of 1888, designed by Defendi Semeghini (1852-1891. That year, the publisher offered two different posters, including the famous Vernienne showing the author (see above) among his characters.
