The novel, co-written by Gustave Guitton and Gustave Le Rouge, was published in 1902, the third work they had written together under their names, and Le Rouge's first productions. A French engineer, Goel Mordax, won a competition organized by a wealthy Norwegian industrialist. The prize was a large sum of money and the hand (if agreed!) of the billionaire's charming daughter (Edda). The Frenchman was in competition with an American, who, furious at losing and a bad sport, kidnapped the girl and disappeared with the submarine. The French hero is relentless in his pursuit of her, while the villain is punished atrociously. The book is inspired by Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea.
Covers a little soiled, stamped with a mention of Treizième mille (!!), but in good condition, which is rare for these small Méricant fascicules.
