Jean-Baptiste NINI (1717-1786), after Jean-Baptiste NINI (1717-1786), after. Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette, King and Queen of France. Pair of red terra cotta medallions with the profiles on the right of Louis XVI (1754-1793), "Most Christian King", and on the left of Marie-Antoinette (1755-1793), "Archduchess of Austria and Queen of France", Louis XVI wearing the cordon of the Order of the Holy Spirit and the collar of the Golden Fleece and draped in a fleur-de-lys cape, Marie-Antoinette wearing an identical cape, in a filleted frame. One presented in a gilded wood frame decorated with ribboned leaves. Old restorations. The medallion of Marie-Antoinette is signed J. B. NINI and dated 1774. Late 18th - early 19th century. D. 12 cm. Frame: D. 15 cm.
