In 1905, one of the first books dedicated to women artists was published: Women Painters of the World, from the time of Caterina Vigri, 1413-1463, to Rosa Bonheur and the present day, featuring two hundred women. Elisa Koch was one of them, and her painting "La petite sœur" was even one of the illustrations. This recognition gave the Lyon-trained Tuscan artist an international dimension.
