Statue équestre de Louis XIV Musée du Louvre casting workshop (from 1864), after Henry DASSON (1825-1896), after François GIRARDON (1628-1715) Equestrian statue of Louis XIV Plaster H. 107 cm W. 85 cm D. 38 cm Based on the original work created before 1704 and now in the Musée du Louvre (Paris), consisting of a reduction of the statue on Place Louis-le-Grand (now Place Vendôme) in Paris, cast in 1692 and erected in 1699. A bronze reduction was presented at the exhibitions of the Académie de peinture et de sculpture in 1699 and 1704.
