Antinoüs du Capitole, de dos Musée du Louvre casting workshop (from 1864) Antinous of the Capitol, from behind Plaster, model on base H. 68 cm W. 68 cm D. 30 cm Based on the famous Roman antique from the Capitoline Museum, which belonged to the collection of Cardinal Alessandro ALBANI (1692-1779) and is considered one of the finest Roman copies of a Greek original. Clearly recognizable from the back, we can make out our man's skilfully curled hair, but above all that inclination of the head which led us to think of the greatest for the Greek original (Praxiteles or Polyclitus).
