The eight album pages depicting famous Chinese women, the leaves bearing the apocryphal signature of Zhou Wenju (周文矩). The eight women represent 李少君, 杜韦娘, 罗敷女 and notably: -关盼盼 (Guan Panpan), who was a Tang dynasty poetess who could sing and dance. -卓文君 (Zhuo Wenjun 175 BC - 121 BC), formerly known as Queen Wen, who came from Linqiong in the Western Han dynasty. She was one of the four most talented women of ancient China. She was gifted in music. -王昭君 (Wang Zhaojun), commonly known by her courtesy name Wang Zhaojun, known as one of the four beauties of ancient China. -苏小小 (Su Xiaoxiao), who was a poetess from the city of Qiantang (now Hangzhou, Zhejiang province) during the Southern Qi Dynasty. Known for her intellectual talent and great beauty, Su Xiaoxiao defended the values of love, beauty and humanity, as evidenced by her writings and popular stories. -西施 (Xi Shi) "Lady Shi of the West", who was, according to legend, one of the four renowned beauties of ancient China. She is said to have lived at the end of the Spring and Autumn period in Zhuji, the capital of the ancient state of Yue. The painter Zhou Wenju (942-961), also known as Chou Wen-chu, was a painter during the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period (907-960). He specialized in figure painting and attended the Academy of Painting of the Southern Tang court. A few stains. Dimensions of each album page: 28.8 cm x 20 cm (for each album page).
