"A work containing an immense mass of genealogical documents particularly precious for the XVIIth and the first three quarters of the XVIIIth centuries" (Saffroy, vol. III, no. 34194), this dictionary of the nobility had originally appeared from 1757 to 1765 under the title dictionnaire généalogique, héraldique, chronologique et historique.
