Original Indian ink drawing on strong glossy paper (31 x 20.6 cm), signed in the lower left corner, handwritten notes in pencil and ink on the back, mounted on strong paper, matted.
Superb original drawing signed in Indian ink by Jindrich Štyrský (1899-1942).
Surrealist composition featuring six isolated eyes in the combs of an oval-shaped beehive, surmounted by a bulbous plant on which four insects with large folded wings can be seen.
Note in blue ink on the back "najdet K. Teige" with his Prague address. In another hand, in pencil, the date 1936 and dimensions for reproduction.
Stamped 5/1936 on the cardboard on which the drawing was mounted. Old marks on the back, not serious.
