Very fine original photograph by László Moholy-Nagy (1895-1946) of one of his Galalitbild paintings.
A fine vintage print from the collection of German typographer Jan Tschichold (1902-1974), one of the leading proponents of modernist typography, close to the Bauhaus.
He fled Nazism in 1933 and settled in Switzerland. His collection, which includes many graphic works by his colleagues László Moholy-Nagy, Kurt Schwitters, Lissitzky and Herbert Bayer, has just been exhibited in Basel.
Handwritten note in black ink on back: "L. Moholy-Nagy, Galalithbild 1930 (Sammlung J. Tschichold)".
