DAMERVAL HOUSE. Set of five panels mounted under glass. Decor imitating woodwork panels, with rural scenes, notably on the theme of the harvest. These decorations were incorporated into the decor of Parisian bakeries.
One signed: "Damerval, 46 rue JJ Rousseau".
Circa 1880 / 1890.

In the Carnavalet museum archives, we found a watercolor by Jules Gaildreau, dated 1888, depicting numbers 42 to 48 on rue Jean Jacques Rousseau in the 1st arrondissement of Paris. Inscribed under number 46: "USTENSILES de BOULANGERIE" and "DAMERVAL". Maison Damerval was to offer 325 decorations for Paris bakeries.
